Early Childhood Center (ECC)
The Learning Center for the Deaf is now participating in the Massachusetts Library System’s Commonwealth eBook Collection. By becoming a member we join with over 250 schools and districts and have access to the Overdrive K-12 Shared Sora Collection. This is a collection of over 20,000 ebooks and audiobooks across all grade levels and interest areas, only shared among participating schools. Watch the Video to learn more:

Extra layers (jackets, sweaters). We will be keeping windows open and going outside as much as possible
Extra clothes (to be kept in student’s backpack)

Health and Safety Expectations for Back to School:
Parents/guardians will be expected to complete an Attestation Form one time to ensure they will not send their children to school while exhibiting any symptoms of illness. This includes a temperature check. Click here to complete the Parent Attestation form.
Students should arrive at school wearing a mask, and bring at least one extra mask as a backup. TLC will provide disposable masks for students if they forget or if a family is unable to provide them.
Students and staff will be encouraged to maintain social distancing as much as it is appropriate given each student’s individual needs. While in the classroom, students will sit at desks spaced six feet apart.
For areas that have shared bathrooms, only one student will be allowed in the bathroom at a time, to ensure social distancing.
Hand sanitizer is available in every classroom and in the hallways. Students will be expected to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands upon arrival to school and during any transitions.
Students will be given mask breaks throughout the day. These mask breaks will take place outside when weather allows.
While in school, students will eat lunch unmasked and spaced six feet apart in the classroom or outdoors.
Please send your child to school with a refillable water bottle. Water fountains have been shut off and replaced with water coolers operated by a foot pedal.
All buildings currently have one-way entrances and exits, to help reduce traffic congestion in the halls.
Now that children are using devices all day long, we continue to encourage you to have conversations with your children about safe and appropriate online behavior and safe use of social media. Here is an article with a few tips for elementary age children.
